John Galliano Fired From Christian Dior

Christian Dior, one of the most prestigious luxury brands in the world of fashion, had lost its head designer John Galliano after firing him in the wake of the anti-Semitic rant he hurled at a couple at a Parisian cafe called Le Perle.

Galliano was immediately suspended after reports came out but only after a few days when a video captured on a mobile phone was leaked regarding this rantings (“I love Hitler. People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your fathers, would all be f_ _ _ _ _ _ gassed.”) and another complaint was made to the police he was immediately fired.
Dior President and CEO Sidney Toledo told Women’s Wear Daily that everyone in Dior “condemns the statements made” by Galliano which is “in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of Christian Dior”.
Galliano, 50, had been the head designer of Christian Dior since October 1996.
The most famous names in the world had worn his creations: the late Princess Diana, Kate Moss (who had recently chosen Galliano to design her wedding gown), Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron and Cate Blanchett.
Besides wearing Galliano’s creations for Dior Charlize Theron also did a perfume ad for them.
Gwen Stefani’s wedding gown via John Galliano.
One of Kate Moss’ ads for Dior.
Madonna in one of Galliano’s clothes for the movie Evita Peron.
Oscar winner Natalie Portman for Miss Dior Cherie.
Nicole Kidman in a Galliano creation touted as one of the top ten best Oscar gowns.

One of the most hurting blows is when Oscar winner Natalie Portman released a statement “dissociating” herself from “Mr. Galliano in every way”. Portman just had worked with Galliano via her Miss Dior Cherie ad and takes her Jewish roots very seriously.
No word yet on what would happen to the fashion house’s scheduled fashion show on March 4.
